Dr. Scanlon is a pediatric ICU physician with formal training in epidemiology, patient safety, quality and human factors engineering. His research focuses on how clinical work is really done (Work as Done v. Work as Imagined) , the impact of technologies on clinical work, and how to optimize the performance of sociotechnical system.
