I have extensive experience in nutritional and molecular epidemiologic studies of colorectal and breast cancers. A major focus of my research is to identify modifiable dietary factors and to understand carcinogenesis biomarkers, particularly one-carbon metabolism, epigenetic, microbiomial and inflammation biomarkers, in colorectal neoplasia risk. I have investigated how dietary factors, such as methionine, folate or B vitamins interact with blood one-carbon metabolism, methylation, genes, and immunohistochemistry biomarkers in colorectal tissues and risk of colorectal neoplasia. I have extensive experience in conducting collaborative nutritional and molecular epidemiologic studies and am always open to new collaborations as we work together to improve the health of our communities.
