Marti Gali Tapias

I study the interaction between marine microbial plankton and the Earth's climate by means of experimental studies, oceanographic cruises, analysis of data acquired by autonomous platforms and models. Since 2007, most of my research has focused on the upper-ocean biogeochemical cycling of dimethylsulfide (DMS), a biogenic gas that affects aerosols and clouds. In recent years I started a new research line to study the fate of organic particles in the oceans' twilight zone.
