Over the years, she has investigated different mechanisms of resistance to antimicrobials in several pathogens, such as A. baumannii and P. aeruginosa Currently, she is working with a Miguel Servet contract from Instituto Salud Carlos III (research contract, National Health System) initiating new research on the relationship between resistance and virulence mechanisms in these pathogens. Moreover, she is the coordinator of the Genomic Diagnosis Unit in the Clinical Microbiology Department at University Hospital of A Coruña (Galicia, Spain), whose director is Dr. Germán Bou and which examines new molecular techniques for the diagnosis of infectious diseases.
