Professor Marc Dweck's main research interests are in the application of multi-modality imaging techniques (echocardiography, CT, MRI, PET) to the study of cardiovascular disease, in particular to aortic stenosis, cardiomyopathy and coronary atherosclerosis. He aims to translate these powerful novel imaging techniques in to improvements in patient assessment and clinical outcomes.

He has published in many of world’s leading general medical and cardiovascular journals (H-index 71, >400 publications) and is the recipient of numerous national and international awards including: Michael Davies Early Career Award, British Cardiovascular Society (2016); Sir Jules Thorn Award for Biomedical Research (2015); Queen’s Anniversary Prize for Higher and Further Education (2015); British Heart Foundation Outstanding Investigator Award (2015); Finalist BMJ UK research paper of the year (2014); Winner of the Patrick Neil Medal, The Royal Society, Edinburgh (2013); The Young Investigator Award from the American College of Cardiology (2012); The Young Research Worker’s Prize from the Radiology Society of North America (2011); and The William W Parmley Young Author Award from the Journal of the American College of Cardiology (2012). Professor Dweck is Vice President Elect of the European Association of Cardiovascular Imaging
