Marc D Lemoine

Marc D. Lemoine is a clinician scientist in cardiology, working in the translational interface between cellular and clinical electrophysiology. Dr. Lemoine started his research 2009 in parallel to his medical studies at the University of Münster, Germany (Prof. P. Kirchhof and Prof. L. Fabritz) and was awarded for an MD Fellowship to spent one year at the Montreal Heart Institute (Prof. S. Nattel) investigating atrial arrhythmogensis of the LQT syndrome (patch clamp/action potential measurements) and effects of late sodium current inhibitors in a genetic mouse model. Dr. Lemoine started his cardiology training in 2014 at the University Heart and Vascular Center Hamburg, Germany and joined the working group of cellular electrophysiology of Dr. Christ and Prof. Eschenhagen at the Institute of Experimental Pharmacology. His research interest focused on the development of a valid model for cellular electrophysiology with human induced pluripotent stem cells derived cardiomyocytes in engineered heart tissue and its translational use to individualize the treatment of genetic cardiomyopathies and atrial fibrillation.
