Dr. Manish Dev Sharma is presently working as a regular faculty in Physics & Electronics, at Department of Physics, Centre of Advance study, Panjab University, Chandigarh from more than decade. He has done Ph.D in Engineering and Technology from Panjab University Chandigarh. He has more than 18 years of teaching experience in engineering and sciences, for undergraduate and post graduate courses and presently guiding 4 regular Ph.D students. His area of research is Solid State Electronics and Smart Materials. The thrust area of his research is Phase Change in Smart Materials and Electronics Memories. He has published more than 60 papers in different international and national journals and conferences of repute. His various articles on electronics storage media as well as smart techniques are also published in various reputed magazines and SCI International journals. He has Life Memberships of various education and technical societies like CRIKC, Indian Physics Association, Institution of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers, Indian Society for Technical Education and Indian Association of Physics Teachers. He has attended more than 30 courses and also attended many international and national conferences of repute. He has conducted more than 40 refresher courses as well as many short term programs as a resource person and facilitator. He has organized Refresher Courses in Experimental Physics as Couse Director in association with IAS Bengaluru, NASI and INSA. He has delivered more than 200 invited lectures on sciences, engineering and technology at different reputed institutions of country. He is actively working in collaboration with various prestigious institutions of our country like IAS (Indian Academy of Sciences) Bangaluru, IIT (Indian Institute of Technology) Patna and IISER (Indian Institute of Science Education and Research), Pune for the outreach of science. He is also in-charge for Pre-Incubator and Skill Development in the department of Physics. Presently he is handling the project of 2.65 Cr. on E-waste management and capacity building, funded by Ministry of Electronics & IT, MeiT GOI.
