She served at several scientific societies: President of the Spanish Working Group on HF and HT (2003-2007). Member of the Board of Directors of the International Society for Heart and Lung Transplantation (ISHLT) (2010-1013). Member of the Board of the HF Association (HFA) of the European Society of Cardiology (ESC) (2012-2018). Secretary of the HFA Executive Committee (2016-2018). Chair of the HFA Advanced HF Committee (2017-2018). Member of ESC Education Committee (2018-2020). Member of HFA Advanced HF Committee (2022-2024). Since October 2023 she is “Vice-President elect” of the Spanish Society of Cardiology.

Her main fields of research and interest are HF and HT and she is author or co-author of more than 365 papers referenced in Pubmed (h-index 57). She chaired the Spanish Consensus Conference on Heart Transplantation (2007), the ESC HF Long Term Registry (2013-2016), and the Spanish Post-Heart Transplant Tumor Registry (ongoing). She chaired the ESC-HFA Position Statement on Advanced HF (2018) and participated in the “2021 ESC Heart Failure Guidelines Task Force (2021) and in the “2023 Update of 2021 ESC Heart Failure Guidelines Task Force (2023).
