Luca Quadrifoglio received the Laurea degree in chemical engineering from the Politecnico of Milan, Milan, Italy, in 1996, the M.S. degree in engineering management, and the Ph.D. degree in industrial and systems engineering from Daniel J. Epstein Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering, University of Southern California, Los Angeles, in 2002 and 2005, respectively. He was engaged with Snamprogetti (ENI Group), Milan, for five years, being primarily responsible for developing large-scale techno-economic feasibility studies as a decision support tool for the firm's executives. From 2005 to August 2006 he was a Postdoctoral Research Associate at the Department of Homeland Security, Center for Risk and Economic Analysis of Terrorism Events (CREATE), University of Southern California. He is currently an Assistant Professor with the Faculty of the Zachry Department of Civil Engineering, Texas A&M University, College Station, Texas. He is the author of a number of papers in top rated Journals. His research interests include broad field of operations research and transportation systems modeling and design, performance/risk/decision analysis, math programming, simulation, scheduling algorithms, innovative transit/logistics solutions. Dr. Quadrifoglio won the 2006 Pritsker Doctoral Dissertation Award (3rd place) and the 2004 Council of University Transportation Center National Student Award for best publication in Science and Technology.
