Luca Brocca was born in Genoa, Italy, in 1978. He received the M.Sc. degree in Environmental Engineering and the Ph.D. degree (the Ph.D. thesis, in Italian, can be downloaded here) in Civil Engineering, both with excellence, from the University of Perugia, Italy, in 2003 and 2008, respectively. Since 2003 he received a Scholarship and, successively, a Research Fellowship to carry research at the Research Institute for Geo-Hydrological Protection (IRPI) of the National Research Council (CNR) of Perugia (Italy). Since (2009) 2019 he is (Researcher) Director of Research at CNR-IRPI.
