Chen Liu

Chen Liu received the Ph.D. degree in systems engineering from the Stevens Institute of Technology, Hoboken, NJ, USA. He was with various companies in different industries to gain diverse perspectives, such as the General Motors, Accenture, Lockheed Martin, Bank of America, Sun Trust Bank, etc. He is currently with the Conduent as a Director of Data Science and helping company better leverage data science approach. His research interests include how to use different approaches to support human decision making, understand large-scale enterprise transformation, complex systems, and technology adoption in multidisciplinary, multiperspective, and multistakeholders environments. His research builds on various theories, such as diffusion of innovations, utility/prospect theory, and enterprise transformation theory. In his research, he employs modeling and simulation, statistical analysis, time series, data mining, and case study techniques to gain insights into complex systems. Due to the uncertainties and nonlinearities associated with complex systems, probabilities of misunderstandings are significant. Consequently, his research seeks to use computational and visualization methods to quantify and imitate interactions and relationships in a system to better understand phenomena, detect the tipping points, and facilitate communications among different stakeholders.
