His research has focused on health technology assessment and economic evaluation in a range of disease areas including neurology, psychiatry and oncology. Recently his research interests include value of innovation in health care with particular focus on digitalization of health care systems as well as neurodegenerative disorders. He is chairman of the board of the Swedish Institute of Health Economics and has served as advisor to the National Board of Health and Welfare for the development of national treatment guidelines in Sweden. Dr Jönsson is the author of 90+ original publications, reviews and book chapters.
