Liguo Zhang

Liguo Zhang, Ph.D. Professor, Department of Biotherapy, Cancer Center and State Key Laboratory of Biotherapy, West China Hospital, Sichuan University, Chengdu, China. Before joining West China Hospital of Sichuan University, I have worked as a postdoctoral fellow at the University of Texas Southwest Medical Center and Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center in the United States from 2013 to 2020. In 2021, I was employed as a professor in the State Key Laboratory of Biotherapy of West China Hospital, Sichuan University in China. My research is mainly focused on the occurrence, development, and recurrence mechanism of brain tumors. Utilizing various techniques such as single-cell analysis, neurobiology and stem cell biology and the mouse genetic model combined with clinical specimen to study the cellular and molecular mechanisms of malignant brain tumor formation, cellular origin, and the development of personalized treatment strategies. Related research work has been published in academic journals such as Nature Medicine, Cancer Cell, Developmental Cell, Cell Stem Cell, and Nature Neuroscience.
