Lawrence Shah

Lawrence Shah is a research professor in the Laser Plasma Laboratory (LPL) in the Townes Laser Institute, in CREOL, The College of Optics & Photonics at the University of Central Florida, Orlando, Fla, USA since 2012. Shah received the M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in optical physics from the University of Central Florida, USA, as a member of LPL in 1999 and 2001 respectively. Prior to rejoining UCF, Shah served as a Postdoc Research in LLNL and as a Research Scientist in IMRA America Inc., developing solid-state and fiber laser systems as well as novel laser applications. Rejoining LPL in 2008, Shah was the group leader for laser development and in 2012 became a Research Assistant Professor of Optics in the College of Optics and Photonics at UCF.. Shah has been awarded more than ten patents and authored over thirty peer-reviewed publications on high-power solid-state and fiber laser systems and their applications.
