To provide a scientific basis from which farmers can inform decisions about how best to manage rural landscapes under the mounting pressure to simultaneously produce, maintain, and develop ecosystem services such as clean air, soil and water quality, biodiversity and aesthetics, and contribute to the basic science of agronomy and ecology by generating knowledge about management effects on agro-ecosystems that will assist the public, agencies, and policymakers.
