Prof. Arshad is a distinguished academic with over 20 years of experience in research, and teaching, and significant experience in higher education management. He currently serves as a Prof. in Electrical Engineering and Dean of Research and Graduate Studies at Ajman University in the UAE. Prior to joining Ajman University in 2016, he held the positions of Senior Lecturer and Program Director of MSc Wireless Mobile Communications Systems Engineering at the University of Greenwich (UK). Throughout his career, Professor Arshad has led numerous research projects in wireless communications, including areas such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), Cognitive Radio, LTE/LTE-Advanced, 5G, and Cognitive Machine-to-Machine (M2M) communications. He has collaborated with leading European companies such as British Telecom, Toshiba, Thales, NEC, Agilent, Alcatel Lucent, Nokia, and Ericsson, and has produced several joint indexed publications. As a dedicated educator, Prof. Arshad has supervised many successful PhD and MSc theses, examined PhD theses, and authored over 150 technical peer-reviewed papers in top quality journals and international conferences. He has also received several awards for his research contributions, including three best paper awards and one best R&D track award. He has chaired technical sessions in several leading international conferences and delivered keynote, guest, and invited talks at various international forums and workshops. Professor Arshad is a founding member of the IEEE Special Interest Group on Green Smart Grid Communications, and he has taught short courses on wireless communications in the UK. He has also authored/co-authored over 25 technical reports submitted to the European Commission and served as a Technical Program Committee member and editor for several international journals. Prof. Arshad is a respected member of several professional organizations, including the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) and the UK Higher Education Academy. In recognition of his exceptional research contributions and performance, he received a Performance Related Payment from the University of Surrey in 2009. He is listed in several prestigious publications, including Marquis’s Who’s Who in the World (2007), the Dictionary of International Biography (2008), and the Who’s Who in Science and Engineering (2009).
