Bio
Kristopher W. Larsen received the B.A. degree in physics from the University of Colorado, Boulder, in 1997 and the Ph.D. degree in planetary science from Washington University in St. Louis, St. Louis, MO, in 2003.
From 2004–2009, he was a Research Scientist with the Laboratory for Atmospheric and Space Physics, University of Colorado. He is currently an Advocacy Coordinator and Science Education Policy Specialist for the American Physical Society in Washington, DC. His primary research has been as part of the Cassini Ultraviolet Imaging Spectrograph science team investigating the atmospheric structure and composition of Titan. Additionally, he is using the radar techniques described in this paper to assess the safety of landing sites for the Mars Science Laboratory.
Dr. Larsen is a member of the American Geophysical Union and Geological Society of America.
