My research team studies how teeth and jaws "fit" together as they grow during an animal's life and as they evolve across species Using mammalian models, we study the genetic processes and morphological changes that coordinate tooth and jaw development in space and time. To do this we combine new information gleaned from 3D X-ray images, statistical tests of shape, and molecular-level experiments.
