Bio
Joshua T. Jones received the B.S. degree in 2012 in mechanical engineering and the M.S. degree in 2013 in nuclear engineering from The Ohio State University, Columbus, OH, USA, where he is currently working toward the Ph.D. degree in nuclear engineering. His current research focuses on the development and application of single crystal sapphire fiber optics, which contain an internal cladding, and also limited work with silica fibers. These fibers are being developed for application as distributed high temperature sensors and can include inscribed sensing structures, such as fiber Bragg gratings. Prior to his current position, he was with Davis-Besse Nuclear Power Station, in design engineering analysis from 2013 to 2019.
