My teaching includes courses of Concepts of Biology, Ecology of Populations and Communities, and System Ecology in the Degree in Biology, as well as the course of Biological invasions in the Master in Biodiversity Conservation, Management and Restoration. In recent years my research work has focused on the biology and ecology of defoliating lepidopterans, with special attention to the pine processionary moth, its ecology, population dynamics, interaction with trees and predators, parasites and parasitoids. My research areas include the Mediterranean mountains and the arid basins of southeastern Spain. I'm author or coauthor of more than 100 research papers and 20 book chapters, most of them in international journals of general and applied ecology.
