John W Lewellen

John W. Lewellen (M’11) received the B.S. degree in physics from Case Western Reserve University, Cleveland, OH, USA, in 1991, and the Ph.D. degree in applied physics from Stanford University, Stanford, CA, USA, in 1997. From 1997 to 2007, he was a Scientist with the Argonne National Laboratory, Argonne, IL, USA. From 2007 to 2012, he was a Research Associate Professor with the Naval Postgraduate School, Monterey, CA, USA. Since 2007, he has been a Scientist with the Los Alamos National Laboratory, Los Alamos, NM, USA. He has authored approximately 150 articles. He holds seven patents related to accelerator physics and technology. His current research interests include beam sources, high-power, and high-brightness electron beam generation and transport, and novel accelerator structures. Dr. Lewellen was a fellow of the American Physical Society in 2018. He was a recipient of the 2009 USPAS Prize for Achievement in Accelerator Physics and Technology.
