My research targets fungi and oomycetes responsible for destructive diseases of ornamental plants and turf. Current systems include boxwood blight, turfgrass anthracnose, & newly emergent downy mildews of impatiens & Rudbeckia. Much of our work makes use of the vast resources in the US National Fungus Collections, allowing us to directly query the genetic makeup of pathogens using specimens collected decades or even centuries before the onset of disease epidemics. www.OrnamentalPathology.com
