Jianyi Lin

Jianyi Lin (Member, IEEE) received the PhD degree in mathematics and statistics for computational sciences from the University of Milan. He is an associate professor with the Department of Statistical Sciences, Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore (Italy). After PhD degree, he worked as a postdoctoral fellow for several years. He has previous research and teaching experience with the Politecnico di Milano and the University of Milan. He has also held a faculty position with Khalifa University (UAE) and has been a visiting researcher with the University of Zurich (Switzerland) and the Birkbeck Institute for Data Analytics, Birkbeck University of London (U.K.). He has participated in basic research and industrial research projects in the areas of automata and languages, data-driven optimization, artificial vision, biomedical signal processing, and manufacturing process control. His main research interests span computer vision and deep learning, sparse signals and sparse dictionary learning, geometric clustering algorithms, graph-based learning in bioinformatics, and applied dynamical modeling.
