Driven by understanding the fascinating complex interactions in natural plankton ecosystems, in my Zooplankton Ecology research group we develop automatic (Artificial Intelligence) approaches to study zooplankton In Situ and use large-scale mesocosm experiments - internationally, including leading the EU Mesocosm Networks AQUACOSM/plus (aquacosm.eu). Now, I work on effects climate related stressors, browning, eutrophication, light pollution and changes in upwelling (http://www.igb-berlin.de).
