Prof. Eng. Jean Bosco Byiringiro is a University Professor of Mechatronics Engineering at Dedan Kimathi University of Technology, Founding Director of the Siemens Centre (De-TRIPLEX) and Virtual reality (VR) lab in Kenya. Currently a visiting Professor at University Bourgogne Franché Comté (UBFC)-France, the National Engineering School of Tarbes-National Polytechnic Institute of Toulouse (ENIT-INPT), France. Prof. Byiringiro initiated a pioneering Siemens Mechatronics Certification Centre in Kenya and TVET Authority appointed him to champion mechatronics skills both locally and internationally. African Organization for Standardization (ARSO) appointed him also to be the ARSO representative in the Open Community for Ethics in Autonomous and Intelligent Systems (OCEANIS) cooperation initiative and lead the discussion under the 4th Industrial Revolution (4IR) especially on the current strategies that have been initiated including Drone’s applications; CPS; VR/AR; and capacity building to enhance the 4IR opportunities for Africa in Manufacturing Infrastructure, in the context of the AfCFTA Agreement and the ARSO 4IR Standardization Strategy. Research interests are: • Industrie 4.0: Virtual Reality, Augmented Reality, Digital Twin, Digital Triplet, Internet of Things, Artificial Intelligent, Data Mining, Learning factory, etc. • Development of an Economic Fabrication Technique of a 3D Rapid Micro/Nano-Mask. • Development of Base and Core Technologies for Nano/Micro-Based Ultra Precision Hybrid Machining Systems.
