He works on language acquisition, linguistic processing and language-associated links to structural and functional adaptations to the brain and cognitive behavior in children and adults, especially in various bi-/multilingual populations. He is founding editor of the journal Linguistic Approaches to Bilingualism, was formerly executive editor of the book series Studies in Bilingualism.
