Jan Iwaszkiewicz

Jan Iwaszkiewicz was born in Wilno, Poland, in 1943. He received the M. Sc. degree from the Technical University of Gdansk, Gdansk, Poland, and the Ph. D. degree from The Electrotechnical Institute, Warsaw, Poland, both in power electronics. From 1967 to 1977, he was a Researcher at The Electrotechnical Institute, Gdansk, Poland, where he was involved in research in the field of converter control. From 1998 to 1991, he was with the Institute for Sea Fisheries and the Technical University of Gdansk. In 1991, he returned to The Electrotechnical Institute, Gdansk, Poland, where he is currently Director. His interests are in the areas of power electronics, converter control, and predictive control strategies. He has authored several published papers concerning energy conversion and VSI control.
