I am currently Vice President of the British Society of Gastroenterology (BSG) and Chair of its Endoscopy Committee. I am a member of the American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (ASGE) and the European Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (ESGE). I have also previously served as Chairman, UK Endoscopic Ultrasound (EUS) Users Group and secretary of the Scottish Society of Gastroenterology. I am co-editor of Davidson's Principles and Practice of Medicine as well as a textbook of endoscopy - Gastrointestinal Endoscopy in Practice – and am Associate Editor of Frontline Gastroenterology. I have published over 65 clinical or research papers, editorials and articles in peer-reviewed journals.
