Ivan Shorubalko

Ivan Shorubalko received the Ph.D. degree in physics from Lund University, Lund, Sweden. The focus of his research was on electrical properties of quantum and ballistic nanodevices fabricated from III–V semiconductors. Then, he was a Postdoctoral Researcher in the nanophysics group at ETH Zurich, Switzerland, working on designing and manipulating electron quantum states in semiconductor nanostructures based. He joined Empa–Swiss Federal Laboratories for Materials Science and Technology Switzerland as a Scientist, in 2009, and developed to a Group Leader. His current research interests are novel nanoelectronics and nanophotonics components. Recent developments: hybrid quantum dots–graphene infrared detectors, electrical rectification effect in three-terminal graphene nano-junctions, miniaturized waveguide imaging spectrometers based on plasmonic antennas, focused He-ion beam nanostructuring technique for novel devices.
