Bio
My past work focused on translational immunology research in order to find ways to detect, prevent and treat acute myeloid leukemia (AML) relapse. I have also a considerable experience in small molecule drug discovery for molecularly targeted therapy of cancers. Over the course of my postdoctoral research, I worked on understanding the molecular mechanisms underlying the development of pediatric cancers including osteosarcoma and Ewing sarcoma with an ultimate aim of identification and development of more effective treatments. I gained a strong experimental background in drug metabolism during my graduate studies with specialization on the role of microsomal drug-metabolizing enzyme systems in the metabolism and bioactivation of anticancer drugs, environmental chemicals and carcinogens.
