Bio
Dr. Priebe’s basic research laboratory studies genomic diversity and virulence mechanisms of bacterial pathogens, including Pseudomonas aeruginosa, the Burkholderia cepacia complex, and Stenotrophomonas maltophilia, with the long-term goal of developing vaccines and novel therapies. A major focus of the Priebe lab is the development of T cell-based vaccines for P. aeruginosa. Dr. Priebe’s translational research projects use whole-genome sequencing of bacteria from clinical samples to explore genomic diversity during infection and transmission, as well as the evolution of antibiotic resistance and pathogenicity.
