Gaetana Ganci

Gaetana Ganci received the Laurea degree in computer science engineering and Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering from the University of Catania, Catania, Italy, in 2004 and 2008, respectively. She has held a postdoctoral position since 2008, spending most of her research at the Istituto Nazionale di Geofisica e Vulcanologia, Catania, Italy. Her current research interests focus on design and implementation of algorithms for satellite data elaboration. She designed the HOTSAT system, based on AVHRR, MODIS and SEVIRI data for thermal anomalies detection, characterization, and monitoring.
