Genetic and epigenetic factors make important contributions to complex traits and disease. We are now increasingly aware of the importance of the epigenome as a mechanism for responding to environmental stimuli, throughout the individual’s life and potentially into subsequent generations. My current research explores epidemiological associations between DNA methylation, genetic data and allergic disease-associated phenotypes in the Isle of Wight birth cohort.
