Dr. McGwin has authored or coauthored over 450 peer-reviewed manuscripts, with an emphasis on the epidemiology of injury, aging, eye disease and vision impairment and systemic lupus erythematosus.
Dr. McGwin is an associate editor for the American Journal of Epidemiology and Accident Analysis and Prevention and regularly reviews manuscripts for more than 20 biomedical journals. He is a regular grant reviewer for the National Institutes of Health (NIH), the United States Department of Veterans Affairs, the Canadian Institute for Health Research, the Health Research Board of Ireland as well as other state, national, and international organizations. Dr. McGwin currently sits on data safety and monitoring boards for the NIH and the U.S. Department of Defense.
