Franz Jakob does research in mesenchymal tissue regeneration, mesenchymal stem cell aging, epigenetics and mechanotransduction. Clinically he focusses on osteoporosis and rare bone diseases, locomotion research, the Interaction of bone and cancer and the clinical consequences of bone metastases. Here myeloma bone disease is a key topic. He presently holds a senior professorship on tissue regeneration at Wuerzburg University.
