Bio
François Blanchard received the B.Eng. degree in electrical engineering from the École de Technologies Supérieures, Montréal, QC, Canada, in 2000, and the M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees from the Institut National de la Recherche Scientifique, University of Quebec, Varennes, QC, Canada, in 2003 and 2010, respectively. He carried out his doctoral studies on high-intensity THz sources developments and THz nonlinear spectroscopy.
In 2000, he was with Tecnar Automation Ltee, where he was involved in developing optoelectronics sensors. from 2004 to 2006, he was with Sonatest, where he was engaged in research on the realization of ultrasound phased arrays. He is currently a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Institut for Integrated Cell-Material Sciences, Kyoto, Japan. His research interests include high-intensity THz pulse interactions with materials and biological applications of THz science.
