Gonzalez, D.

Diego Gonzalez (Member, IEEE) was born in Bogotá, Colombia, in 1970. He received the B.S. and M.S. degrees from the Universidad Nacional de Colombia, Bogotá, in 1994 and 1997, respectively, and the Ph.D. degree from the Technische Universität Ilmenau (TU Ilmenau), Ilmenau, Germany, in 2006, all in electrical engineering. From 1995 to 2000, he was a Research Assistant with the Research Group on Acquisition and Analysis of Electromagnetic Signals—PAAS, Universidad Nacional de Colombia. From 2005 to 2017, he was a Research Assistant with the Electrical Apparatus and Switchgear Group, Department of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology, TU Ilmenau. Since 2017, he has been with the Leibniz Institute for Plasma Science and Technology, Greifswald, Germany. His current research interests include switchgear, plasma diagnostics, electrical contacts physics, arc–wall interaction, and lightning deleterious effects on structures.
