David R Webb

Associate Professor in Diabetes Medicine at the University of Leicester, UK. Consultant Physician and clinical lead for Type 2 Diabetes with an interest in overweight/obesity management at the University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust. His research focuses on novel therapeutics, screening and early intervention in type 2 diabetes. He is principal / co-investigator of the STRIVE, ADDITION and MiFoot studies and is a clinical lead for the Lifestyle theme of the University of Leicester NIHR Biomedical Research Centre. He has published over 120 original research articles (h-index 35) and supervised over 10 MD or PhD students to completion. He is director of the College of Life Sciences Diabetes and Obesity Masters programme.
