I am interested in human bionic vision, retinal prostheses, retinal implants. I use extracellular microelectrodes to record spike trains from retinal ganglion cells to understand how the retina encodes vision and responds to electrical stimulation. Our current hot topic is examining how the ~30 different retinal ganglion cell types differentially respond to electrical stimulation.
