Dan Funck Jensen works at the Dept. of Forest Mycology and Plant Pathology, Swedish Univ. of Agric. Sciences. Current project is 'Biological control of plant diseases - basic as well as applied research'. We focus on the biocontrol fungus Clonostachys rosea and its interaction with plant pathogenic fungi or nematodes. Using genomics, transcriptomics and knock out technology we look at single genes and their role in biocontrol interactions. We also compare genomes of more than 70 different isolates of C. rosea and relate gene differences to biocontrol traits as well as other relevant traits. In field experiments on wheat we test biocontrol of Fusarium Head Blight and Zymoseptoria leaf blotch and its role in IPM aiming at reducing pesticide use and avoiding build up of fungicide resistance.
