Dericks Praise Shukla was born in Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh, India, in 1982. He received the B.Sc. degree in electronics from Allahabad University, Allahabad, India, in 2002, the M.Sc. degree in remote sensing and GIS from Jiwaji University, Gwalior, India, in 2004, and the Ph.D. degree from the Geology Department, University of Delhi, New Delhi, India, in 2012. He is currently working as an Associate Professor with the School of Engineering, Indian Institute of Technology Mandi (IIT Mandi), Mandi, India. His research interests include cryospheric remote sensing, natural hazard assessment and mapping, landslide susceptibility zonation, climatic-tectono geomorphological, and geological studies of Himalayas. He has various research projects supported by many funding agencies, such as DLR, Germany, SAC-ISRO, NRDMS-DST, SERB-NPDF, and SERB-DST. His research work has been published in various international and national research journals totaling more than 35 research articles and more than 45 conference papers.
