A. W. Cross

Adrian W. Cross was born in Hanover Germany in 1966. He received the B.Sc. degree (with honors) in physics and the Ph.D. degree from the University of Strathclyde, Glasgow, U.K., in 1989 and1993, respectively. He joined the Atoms, Beams, and Plasmas Group, University of Strathclyde, in 1993 initially as a Research Fellow and then as a Lecturer in 2000, Senior Lecturer in 2003, Reader in 2006 and was promoted to Professor in 2014 with the Department of Physics, University of Strathclyde. From 2002 to 2007, he was an Engineering and Physical Science (EPSRC) UK Advanced Fellow and has been group leader since 2014. He has been involved in various aspects of research on gyrotrons, cyclotron autoresonance masers, free-electron lasers, superradiant sources, gyrotron travelling wave amplifiers, microwave pulse compression and plasma applications. More recently, he has primarily been concerned with research on THz radiation sources and pseudospark physics.
