Research Interests
My research focuses on the neurobiology of stress, arousal and cognitive enhancers used in the treatment of ADHD. We take a multidisciplinary approach that includes anatomical, neurochemical, behavioral, electrophysiological, computational and, most recently, viral vector-based ontogenetic and chemogenetic methods. Much of our current work is focused on understanding the neurotransmitter and circuit mechanisms through which ADHD-related drugs and stress alter higher cognitive function dependent on the prefrontal cortex and extended frontostriatal circuitry.
