Bio
Prof. Chil-Chyuan Kuo is Professor of Mechanical Engineering and Head of Department of Mechanical Engineering at the Ming Chi University of Technology (MCUT). He received the B.S. degree in ME, the M.S. degree in Graduate Institute of ME, and the Ph. D. degree in Graduate Institute of ME from National Taiwan University of Science and Technology (NTUST), Taipei, Taiwan, in 1995, 1997, and 2007, respectively. In NTUST, he demonstrated a low-cost and reliable optical inspection system for polycrystalline thin films in 2004. He also proposed the phase transformation mechanism in pulsed Excimer laser crystallization of amorphous silicon thin films in 2005. He had taught at Da-An vocational high school in 2007. He then joined the faculty members at MCUT ME in 2008.
In recent years, he is involved in the study of the precision rapid tooling. His research group has spent great efforts on the rapid fabrication of diffractive optical element using both micro-hot embossing and micro-injection molding. He has published more than 300 referred journal papers in the field of precision machinery.
