Chian-Yi Liu

Chian-Yi Liu received the B.S. degree in atmospheric sciences from the Chinese Cultural University, Taipei, Taiwan, R.O.C., and the M.S. degrees in atmospheric sciences and meteorology from the National Taiwan University, Taipei, and the University of Maryland, College Park, in 1994, 1996, and 2003, respectively. He is currently an Assistant Researcher with the Cooperative Institute for Meteorological Satellite Studies, University of Wisconsin–Madison. He has been conducting research on the development of new algorithms for processing the data from the next generation of U.S. Geostationary Operational Environmental Satellite (GOES) imager and sounder systems, especially the algorithms for better atmospheric and cloud products by synergistical use of high spatial resolution imager and high spectral resolution sounder data.
