My main field of research has been and is related to the ocean hydrographical variability. In particular, I am strongly involved in the Bay of Biscay and NE Atlantic component of the long-term monitoring programs conducted at the IEO, carrying out a continuous tracking of local changes at intermediate and deep waters and their relationship to the air-sea interaction processes. Being a physical oceanographer at a public research institution that focus in the management of the marine environment, I frequently get involved also in projects dealing with the ocean ecosystem and its relationship with the ocean dynamics. This includes the pelagic environment or specific benthic habitats as seamounts and canyons.
