Established at iCBR (Coimbra Institute for Clinical and Biomedical Research, Coimbra, Portugal) and as part of the Retinal Dysfunction and Neuroinflammation Lab, I am focused on the development of new therapeutical strategies for retinal degeneration based on the modulation of microglia activation and inflammatory processes. Our lab applies a multidisciplinary approach using know-how from different research fields, such as ophthalmology, neurosciences, gene therapy, molecular biology and immunology to study the mechanisms behind retinal degeneration and inflammation. http://henriquealvesresearch.mozello.com/
