Gladine Cécile

Dr. Cécile Gladine is a researcher at the Human Nutrition Department of the French National Institute of Agriculture (INRA) who brings expertise in clinical nutrition, animal and cell culture experimentation, analytical biochemistry especially focused on the MS-based lipidomic profiling of oxylipins. Dr Gladine is applying these tools to investigate the relationships between diet, oxylipins and human health with a special emphasis given to cardiometabolic health and inflammatory related-diseases as well as the interindividual variability in the oxylipin metabolism. Dr Cécile Gladine has received a higher education in France and in UK, Scotland. She obtained a B.Sc. in Applied Biosciences and Chemistry from the Robert Gordon University, Aberdeen, Scotland, UK. and she received her Ph.D in Nutrition, Biochemistry and Metabolism from the University d’Auvergne in Clermont-Ferrand, France in 2006. Following her recruitment at INRA in 2007, she worked as a postdoctorate at the AgResearch Institute (Palmerston North, NZ), Food Nutrition Genomic team in 2008 exploring the nutrigenomic effects of omega 3 fatty acids and their relationships with the development of atherosclerosis and inflammation. During 10 years, Dr Cécile Gladine has focused her efforts in assessing the health effects of lipids with a special emphasis in the assessment of the contribution of oxygenated metabolites of PUFAs such as isoprosanoids. More recently, Dr Cécile Gladine has expanded her focus to the entire family of oxylipins including enzymatic and non-enzymatic metabolites of PUFAs which are explored as new biomarkers of nutrition and health (European project OXYGENATE, JPI HDHL, 2017-2020, https://www6.inra.fr/jpi-hdhl-biomarkers-oxygenate ).
