Professor Simon Brumagne received a BS (1991), MS (1993), and PhD (1999) in Rehabilitation Sciences and Physical Therapy at the University of Leuven, Belgium. From 1999-2001, he was a post-doctoral fellow of the Research Council at the University of Leuven and Neurological Sciences Institute, Oregon Health & Science University, Portland, U.S.A. He is currently Professor of Physical Therapy in the Department of Rehabilitation Sciences at the University of Leuven. In addition, he is seeing patients with spinal impairments at the outpatient department, University Hospitals Leuven, Belgium. His research interests include peripheral and central mechanisms of proprioceptive postural control in people with spinal pain, inspiratory muscle loading and therapeutic exercise.
