Bio
Brian Thibeault (S'89–M'97–SM'05) received the B.S. degree in electrical engineering from the University of California at Irvine, in 1990, and the M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in electrical engineering from the University of California at Santa Barbara (UCSB), in 1991 and 1997, respectively.
He is currently a Project Scientist with the Nanofabrication Facility, UCSB. In 1996, he helped start WideGap Technologies LLC, during which time he worked on GaN-based HEMT technologies and ultraviolet and visible light-emitting diodes as both a Principal Investigator and Member of the Technical Staff. The company was later incorporated and merged with Cree Inc., in 2000. In December 2000, he joined the staff of the Nanofabrication Facility, UCSB, as a Principal Development Engineer. He has authored or coauthored over 115 journal and conference papers and coauthored one book chapter. He is listed as an inventor in ten U.S. patents. His current research interests are in the area of fabrication of electronic and opto-electronic devices.
